Season's Greetings
May Mischief Fill your Heart
and your Glass Never Want for Wine.
We have reached that time of the year. As the longest night arrives we start thinking about what we have done, and what we want to do. Although the year is yet to be over we deemed it lost and start planing next year's endeavours. I am no different. I am missing people that I haven’t seen in a while, and that made me think about places I have been but not returned. I hope next year to revisit some old friends more often and maybe some of these places too.
This post card depicts a Careto getting ready for the traditional party “Festa dos Rapazes” (Click to read more about it). Maybe he is late. Maybe he is early. The colours and the mask are not exclusive, different colours and masks can be used through different villages. Some of the masks are made of metal others of wood, depicting animals or devils. I just really liked the simplicity of this one. I was also short of time and drew this between emergency appointments through my work nights.
